Ten-year-old girl found in Indian River County

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, 10-year-old Carmen Hudson has been found safe. 

Previously: Detectives in Indian River County are seeking help locating a missing 10-year-old girl.

On Tuesday evening, detectives with the Indian River County Sheriff's Office received information that a wanted woman, Yolanda Chambliss (also known as Yolanda Blue), was possibly in the Gifford, Fla., area.

Chambliss was wanted in Oxford, Miss., for parental kidnapping of her 10-year-old daughter, Carmen Hudson, who was believed to be in her custody.

Detectives began searching the area and several hours later, Chambliss turned herself in at the Indian River County Jail.

Detectives responded and interviewed Chambliss, who would only say that Carmen was in the custody of a friend.

At this time, detectives believe that Carmen is somewhere in Indian River County and are asking for the public's help to locate her.

The child is 4 feet 7 inches, 65 pounds with a thin build, brown eyes, black hair. It is unknown what she was last wearing.If you know of the child's whereabouts or have any information that may assist in the investigation, contact the Indian River County Sheriff's Office by dialing 911 in reference to case 2015-23606.
