Report: Boynton Beach City commissioner inappropriately touched woman

By Charlie Keegan

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) - An investigation is complete into an accusation against Boynton Beach City Commissioner David Merker.

According to a report just released, it was determined the commissioner inappropriately touched the executive director of the city's Community Redevelopment Agency.

Vivian Brooks says she and Merker were in a regularly scheduled meeting in late December when he grabbed her butt.

Although the commissioner denies he touched her backside, the report “credits Brooks's version of the day's events”.

It further states that, “Merker's pattern of behavior with Brooks that included inappropriate comments and unwanted touching, despite on-going advice from Brook that the behavior was inappropriate, remained unabated".

The report also says Merker's behavior toward staff was, at best, off putting and, at worst, harassing.
