West Palm Beach police say man tried to drown infant in sink

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A West Palm Beach man is in custody Wednesday morning after, police said, he attempted to drown an infant in a sink Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the 600 block of Clematis St. in reference to an excited delirium call at 8 p.m.

According to investigators, Bryan G. Patrice, 38, was fully nude and acting strange around his family.

Officer said Patrice was hitting his wife while she was holding an infant in her arms.

The baby was taken by Patrice from the woman's arms.

According to police, Patrice locked himself in a room and tried to drown the child in a sink.

Officers shocked him with a stun gun, took him into custody and then transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital.

The baby and the wife were both taken to St. Mary's Hospital. Their conditions were not made available.

Patrice has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, domestic battery, and resisting arrest without violence.
