Meet this week's Peggy's Pick Kiki. She's a 9-year-old mixed breed who is up for adoption at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.

Here's a special message from Kiki:

"Well hello there! I'm Kiki, and I'm so happy to meet you! I absolutely love making new friends - people are kind of my thing. And people tend to like me too, I am pretty darn sweet after all! I also have a love of tennis balls. I really like squishing them down inside my mouth, it's so much fun! When you come to visit me, you'll probably see me standing there wagging my tail with some sort of toy or bone in my mouth. I also like to take them with me on my walks. I know, I'm a silly girl sometimes :) Another thing I'm silly about is other dogs. I'm perfectly happy not having any doggy friends, so being an only fur-child will suit me just fine. I know there are lots of homes that only have one dog and everyone is happy, so I'm hopeful there is one out there waiting for me. I have a lot to offer my family. I'm super smart and learn things quickly, I'm fun and love to play - you'd never know I'm considered a mature dog! Speaking of that, I am on medication for the arthritis in my joints, and I've even been seeing the chiropractor. But please don't let this scare you away from adopting me. The shelter has made me part of their Fospice program so all my medications, treatments and everything else I need to be a happy girl will be covered by the shelter. All you have to do is give me a loving home for the rest of my life. Pretty neat, huh?! So come meet me and see if we're the perfect match!"
