MIAMI (WFLX) - The push for a new state of "South Florida" isn't over yet.
Following reports that state agencies have been banned from using terms, like "climate change" and "global warming", South Miami city officials are taking action.
According to the Miami Herald, South Miami Vice Mayor Walter Harris is officially sponsoring a resolution requesting Miami-Dade County League of Cities investigate the possibility of creating the 51st state.
He says the ban on those terms is further proof that South Florida's issues are being ignored in Tallahassee.
Governor Rick Scott has denied banning the terms.
