Friday is deadline for AT&T cell phone refunds for 'cramming'

Friday is the deadline to apply for a refund after AT&T cellphone customers incurred unwanted charges to their monthly bills.

The unwanted charges came through a practice known as "cramming,'' in which third-party vendors for applications offering ringtones, horoscopes, celebrity gossip and other subscriptions charged their fees through monthly billing from AT&T and other cellphone carriers.

Call a toll-free hot line at 1-877-819-9692 to find out if they are eligible.

AT&T consumers can apply for a refund online here.

In October, the Federal Trade Commission announced a $105 million settlement with AT&T over mobile cramming.
