Orlando hotel fire possibly caused by lightning

ORLANDO, Fla. - (WESH/CNN) Lightning may have sparked a fire that caused major damage to a resort hotel Sunday afternoon near Orlando.

About 500 rooms in three buildings were evacuated at the Avanti Resort on International Drive. The fourth floor of one of the buildings was destroyed.

Motel employees rushed door to door, knocking and urging guests to evacuate. The battalion chief described the fire as "very intense" and says it's incredible no one was hurt.

No one was hurt.

The official cause of the fire has not been determined.
