Tequesta police seek suspect who robbed 7-11 store early Wednesday

TEQUESTA, Fla. -- Police are searching for a suspect who robbed the 7-11 store within the Mobil Gas Station at 764 US Highway 1 at 4:17 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say the suspect entered the store, brandished a small black semi-automatic handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded she hand over the cash drawer, which contained $174.

The suspect was wearing light blue latex gloves, a black stocking cap, black sunglasses, a long-sleeve black t-shirt, black shorts that hang below the knees, and black sneakers.

Tequesta Police Department says the minimal amount of visible skin complexion makes it difficult to identify the race of the individual.  Police believe the suspect may be white or possibly a light-skinned Hispanic or black male.

The store clerk says the suspect spoke in a "New York City" accent.

The suspect stands at approximately 5' 7" with a slim body type weighing approximately 140 lbs.

If you have any information related to this robbery you are urged to contact Detective Muniz at 561-768-0528 or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS (8477).
