Mayor, clergy to walk for peace in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - On Friday, people calling for prayers and peace will make their way to the parts of West Palm Beach that have seen recent violence.

West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio and members of the local clergy are organizing a walk for peace.

Four people were killed by gun violence in West Palm Beach last week.

Friday's two and a half mile march will head to each of the locations of recent homicides.

Organizers say it's important to have a presence in the communities and to show unity.

"Let everyone know that we're watching and the goal is to change and stop the violence," said pastor Kevin Jones of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.

Friday's march will start at Friendship Baptist Church on 3rd St. at 6 p.m. in West Palm Beach.
