Victim shot outside McDonald's in Jupiter

JUPITER, Fla. - A person was shot early Friday morning during a robbery outside a McDonald's in Jupiter.

At 3:49 a.m., Jupiter police responded to the restaurant, located at 6760 West Indiantown Rd., after reports of a armed robbery.

Police said a victim was approached while in her vehicle by several men between the ages of 18- to 20-years- old.

Two of the men demanded property from the victim and a firearm was displayed.

During the confrontation, a shot was fired and the victim was struck in the leg, causing a non-life-threatening injury.

The victim was able to drive to the Jupiter Medical Center for treatment and later released.   The attackers fled the area and escaped with the victim's property.

Police said the incident is under investigation and does not appear to be a random act of violence.
