DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP/WPTV) Authorities are searching for a person who stabbed someone in what authorities are calling a road-rage incident in Broward County.
Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky says two cars were headed south along Interstate 95 in Deerfield Beach on Monday afternoon when on one of the cars pulled over and the other followed.
Wysocky said a woman was driving a red Chevrolet Sonic westbound on SW 10 Street between Dixie Highway and Interstate 95 when she was involved in a traffic altercation with another driver.
FHP said she continued westbound on SW 10 Street and entered southbound I-95. When she observed the other driver following her, she pulled off the road thinking that the man would continue southbound.
The man then pulled over behind her, exited his vehicle and approached her vehicle.
As the man approached her vehicle, a 22-year-old passenger in her Sonic exited and a physical altercation ensued. FHP said the passenger was stabbed by the man, who then fled the scene.
The victim was transported to Broward Health North where he was treated and released with minor injuries.
The attacker is described between 40 and 50 years old, a thin build with long dreads, a beard and was wearing a yellow shirt with tan pants.
The attacker’s vehicle is described as a 2000 dark gray Mercury Grand Marquis with custom rims with a Florida tag number of EBAX29.
