The Miami Dolphins have lost a key player in their secondary.

Safety Louis Delmas suffered an apparent torn ACL, according to a number of media reports.

Delmas is still holding out hope that an MRI will reveal the injury is less serious, but the medical staff that checked him out after the injury believes the ACL is torn again, according toProFootballTalk.com.

According to Miamidolphins.com:  The Miami native was entering his second season with the Dolphins and seventh in the NFL. In 2014, he compiled 63 tackles, 3 passes defensed, 2 fumble recoveries, one sack, and an 81-yard interception return for a touchdown and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Jacksonville in Week 8. His season was cut short in Week 14 against the Ravens when he injured the same knee.

My heart hurts for Louis Delmas. I know how hard he worked to get back on the field. I know how valuable he is to the Dolphins.
