FHP trooper, driver confrontation caught on camera in Broward County

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - (WTVJ/NBC) - Dramatic dashcam video shows a Florida Highway Patrol officer's dangerous encounter at a traffic stop last month in Broward County.

The incident happened Aug. 4 on Interstate 75 near Isterstate 595.

After pulling a vehicle over for speeding, Trooper S.D. Chinchilla noticed the passenger's leg sticking out of the window.

The passenger, Marcel Brown, 26, refused to comply with the trooper's request that he pull his leg inside the car.

When the trooper asked for identification, Brown refused, getting out of the car and shoving the trooper.

The struggle took both men inside the car, where the trooper eventually used a stun gun on Brown.

Brown was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, failure to obey an officer and resisting an officer with violence.

His court date is not yet known.
