Fundraisers held in hopes of finding gunman in Mangonia Park triple homicide

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The families of the teens killed in a triple shooting last year are working to raise the reward money for anyone who can help find the killer.

Carley Chapman, 19, Se'Sawn Danford, 17 and Martavious Brown, 17 were shot at the Hampton Court Apartments in Mangonia Park on Aug. 4, 2014.

"Someone needs to come forward," said Carley's father, Randy Chapman. "It's going to happen to somebody else's family, and I've got to tell you, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, to have to go through that. To bury your own child is the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life."

After more than a year of waiting for justice, family and friends decided to take matters into their own hands and raise the reward money being offered. An anonymous donor recently bumped the reward from $1,000 to $10,000. A series of fundraisers aim to increase the reward even more.

"It's to raise money for the reward and the awareness that these people have not been found that committed this horrendous crime," said Dorothy Danford, grandmother of Se'Sawn.

The first fundraiser was a large yard sale held Sunday. Community donations filled a 26-foot long box truck, and family members unloaded it early Sunday morning in a shopping Plaza on Military Trail near Royal Fern Way in Palm Beach Gardens.

Another fundraiser will be held at Pascalli's Italian Restaurant in Loxahatchee on September 25th. Family members will also host a benefit in Riviera Beach's John Prince Park on October 4th.

In addition, Carley's family has set up a Go Fund Me account, and a Carley Chapman Memorial fund at Wells Fargo banks.

"We're hoping we can really bump this up where somebody cannot refuse to call in and help the police and get this person off the streets," said Paula Chapman, Carley's stepmother.
