STUART, Fla. - Residents in Martin County came together Wednesday to show support for the people who patrol their neighborhoods every day.

In light of the recent deaths of police officers and deputies around the country, people wanted to say thank you.

Current and former members of law enforcement packed Stuart City Hall.

Among the people expressing gratitude was a class of 4-year-old children from a nearby daycare.
Martin County Sheriff William Snyder accepted a proclamation making this Saturday officially "Thank a Law Enforcement Officer Day” across the county.

Organizers hope that on Saturday you will go up to a member of law enforcement and say thank you.
