Delray Beach police raid home, seize drugs and arrest two in 'substantial' bust

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Delray Beach police raided a suspected drug house and arrested two people Wednesday.

Police say this was a "substantial" drug operation. Officers found more than 100 grams of marijuana, more than 500 Xanax pills and 25 grams of heroin.

They arrested Diovany Bureau, who lived at the house, and Christopher St. Phard, who lives in Boynton Beach.

Police were first alerted to the home at 2003 NE 3rd Avenue a few weeks ago. A police officer on patrol found a man in a car near the home doing heroin. Investigators were able to link that incident to the home.

After following other leads, officers got a search warrant and raided the home Wednesday afternoon.

Police say a K9 led officers to a safe in the house. Inside the safe, officers found drugs, paraphernalia and cash. Police say both St. Phard and Bureau had keys to the safe on them.

Police also found a shotgun with no serial number and a stun gun which was reported stolen from a home in the neighborhood.

The home is 233 feet away from Plumosa Park.

"I can imagine if I lived in that neighborhood, I'd be happy police were there and made these arrests and conducted this investigation. I'm sure residents today are resting a little easier knowing these two guys are in jail," says Dani Moschella, a police department spokesperson.

Moschella says these arrests could prompt more investigations into where these drugs were coming from.
