Cars get stuck in St. Lucie County flood waters

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. - Dangerous conditions continue St. Lucie County as several roads and parking lots remain flooded, including parts of A1A.

Two days in a row, St. Lucie County got slammed with heavy, persistent rain.

"Its crazy. I haven't seen this since 2005, since the hurricanes," said driver Michael Dijorio.

Thursday night, several streets and parking lots were under water, making it hard for drivers to see.

"It looked all black," said Dijorio. "I came down and my whole car went underneath the water." Dijorio's car stuck in the floods.

Just blocks away, another car got stuck in dangerously high water.

"We pulled in and low and behold there's about 5 foot off water there," said driver George Schnorr, who's vacationing in the area.

The out-of-town couple was trying to avoid an already flooded path.

"Water started coming in. We actually went out the back seat."

No one was seriously injured in either of these incidents.
