MIAMI (AP) — A Florida man is facing prison time after admitting he tried to sell a gold bar that had been stolen in a $4.8 million North Carolina truck heist.

A sentencing hearing is set Tuesday in Miami for Miguel Bover, who pleaded guilty in July to aiding and abetting extortion. Under a plea agreement, Bover faces a maximum of over four years in prison.

Bover was not involved in the March robbery of 275 pounds of gold bars from a truck along Interstate 95 in North Carolina. Court papers say he agreed to help unidentified individuals sell at least one bar and sought help from a pawn shop owner.

The FBI was alerted when the pawn shop owner brought the bar to a Miami-area metals refinery.

The truck theft remains unsolved.
