Beach Body 2

Our quest for a beach body in only 14 days! It's not easy.

Katie Roache/Busy Mom: "I'm very, very tired."

Doug Cohen/Gym Manager: "Very hungry. need more caffeine."

Gym Manager Doug Cohen is taking the challenge along with Mom Katie Roache. Meet their coach, David Kirsch, trainer to the stars--Heidi Klum, Faith Hill and Liv Tyler--author of a new book, The Ultimate New York Body Plan. Here's a quick reminder of the plan: the ABC's explain what you're not allowed.

A is for alcohol. B is for bread. C is for starchy carbs. D is for dairy. E is for extra sweets. And F is for fruits and most fats. You also can't have any caffeine. You will eat five times a day, only low fat protein and veggies and you'll workout--hard!

Every day you must complete 45 minutes of hard cardio. Every other day you'll add a strenuous 45 minute cardio sculpting routine. Two weeks later- does it work?

"Hi. How ya doing?"

Katie's back for the day of reckoning. She's noticibly thinner. So is Doug.

"I feel great. Very good. Ready to hit the beach."

And the measuring tape does not lie.

Here's Doug before the plan and doug after. He's lost 2 and a half inches from his chest, 2 inches from his waist, 5.5% body fat, and an astonishing ten pounds!

"I feel great."

Now it's Katie's turn. She had trouble sticking to the diet on weekends.

"Wanted to go to Starbucks, eat pizza and drink."

Does she stay committed? This is Katie before and this is Katie after. Three inches lost from her chest and waist one inch from her hips and thighs. Body fat down 5%, 6 pounds-wiped away.

"I did lose quite a bit in my waist, which was surprising."

Do I get a big surprise when I return to David in New York?

"I'm so nervous. I'm so nervous."

I feel the pressure as David measures my body fat.

"Uh oh. Stop it!"

It's time to learn the truth.

"Yes!"

Here I am before and this is after. 4 inches lost in my chest. 2 inches in my waist and hips. 3 inches in my thigh, 6 pounds, and the most stunning number: 12% body fat gone.

"Oh my god, 12%!"

"Good job. Good job!"

Are you ready to try it now?

"Do it, just be dedicated."

It will pay off.

Sounds like it could really work. This plan does call for some pretty hard aerobic exercise so make sure you check with your doctor to see if it's right for you.
