Cyrus Ahyoung: Jupiter standoff suspect ordered under house arrest

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A man who barricaded himself inside a Jupiter home over the weekend will be required to have an ankle monitor while under house arrest, a judge ordered during a hearing Thursday.

Cyrus Ahyoung, 50, was engaged in a police standoff for about 18 hours at a house on Cat Rock Lane.

Officers said Ahyoung threatened to kill a woman and her two children, but they managed to safely escape.

When officers tried to arrest Ahyoung, police said he barricaded himself inside the woman's home.

During Thursday’s hearing, a judge said he cannot have contact with the woman or possess any weapons.

Ahyoung was ordered to comply with any recommended treatment, including random alcohol and drug testing.  He must also submit to testing to ensure he's taking prescribed medicine.
