Communities show support for law enforcement

ST LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. - Eriese Tisdale's verdict is getting a lot of reaction, both online and in the community.

Residents in St. Lucie County are banding together to show their support for law enforcement officers, placing blue bands on their mailboxes and cars.

"This is going on all over the country. We've got a lot of problems going on," said resident David Mulhern.

David is talking about a crime seen across the country  and two years ago in St. Lucie County. Law enforcement officers gunned down while on duty.

"We understand that it's a rough job what they have to do," he added.

Linda Vidal, also a Port St. Lucie resident, spearheaded the campaign in her community. She saw others doing it across the country and decided to bring it to Port St. Lucie, just in time for the Tisdale trial.

"There's not enough attention brought to the police department for the good that they do.You hear a lot about the bad, but you don't hear a lot about the good," she said.

There are a lot of campaigns asking people to keep blue lights or blue ribbons up for the week because of the trial.
