MIAMI - Federal officers at Miami International Airport found about four pounds of cocaine hidden in two bags of coffee last month.

The shipment was being sent in a package from Peru and en route to an address in New Jersey.

Customs and Border Protection officers looked at the package and noticed anomalies on the X-ray screen.

Physical inspection of two bags of coffee grounds revealed several clumps that tested positive for cocaine.

“We’re extremely proud of our CBP officers and their ability to detect and seize narcotics,” said Miami International Airport Port Director Christopher Maston in a news release. "They remain dedicated to protecting the American people from dangerous drugs.”
