A West Palm Beach man went to a job interview at Home Depot on Tuesday morning. But instead of scoring an orange apron, he got sent to jail.
According to a Palm Beach Gardens Police report, Juneau Dorestal, 27, left a young child in a running car for 70 minutes while he interviewed at the store on Northlake Boulevard.
When police arrived, they found a Dodge Journey that was left running with a child inside. An officer was able to open a door and remove the child.
The arresting officer noted in the report that Ford and Dodge vehicles had been targeted in the parking lot, raising the potential danger to the child.
A witness told officers the child had been spotted 30 minutes before officers arrived.
More than half an hour after officers arrived, Dorestal showed up at the vehicle and told police he was in a job interview at the home improvement store. Police determined that Dorestal left the child alone from 9:26 to 10:36 a.m.
Dorestal was charged with one count of child neglect and was released on $3,000 bond.
