GREENACRES, Fla. - A man convicted of killing two Circle K store clerks in Greenacres will be sentenced Tuesday.
Only 17-years-old at the time crime, Darnell Razz faces three life sentences for the 2010 murders of Ralston Muller and Michael Dean Bennett.
Prosecutors said Razz and his co-defendant Robert Alvarez Jr. killed the clerks after a planned, masked robbery at the Greenacres Circle K located at 5730 10th Ave. North. The fatal shootings were recorded on the store's surveillance cameras.
Razz's convictions were met with several obstacles. In 2012 a jury convicted him and Alvarez, however the Fourth District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach reversed the conviction and ordered a new trial over a detective's testimony.
Razz's first retrial in 2015 resulted with a hung jury and was tried again in June. In that trial, the jury took four hours to deliberate and they convicted him.
Razz is already serving a 60-year sentence on other charges. His attorney is seeking a lesser sentence since he was 17 when he committed the crime.
Alvarez is still awaiting a retrial.
