More flooding Wednesday caused by high tides

BOCA RATON, Fla. - High tides caused more flooding Wednesday

Palm Beach County Commissioner Steven Abrams got a firsthand look as water covered Wave Crest  Way in Boca Raton.

He's hoping to get the attention of state and federal leaders who can help fund projects to prevent future flooding.

“You are really seeing (this) firsthand, as a policy maker, what is going on, the magnitude of the issue and therefore the magnitude of the response we need to deal with,” Abrams said.

Abrams says Palm Beach County has a list of recommendations to help.

It includes higher seawalls, different building standards - and better planning.

This week we're experiencing the highest tides of the year - typically called the king tide.
