Musical tribute held for Corey Jones in Boynton Beach

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A musical tribute was held Sunday night for Corey Jones, the 31-year-old man who was shot and killed last month by a Palm Beach Gardens police officer.

Hundreds packed the Bible Church of God in Boynton Beach for the event.

Many wore tee shirts with a picture of Corey Jones when he was just 4 months old.

Family and friends sang and danced for the concert called "keeping the beat alive"

“When we gather here tonight, Corey would be the main drummer. (Since he’s not) here, there's a void.  Even though we have other dynamic drummers that are here, they all respect Corey as the first drummer,” said Corey's uncle Sylvester Banks Jr.

Six musical groups performed for Jones, including two dance groups and a praise team from Okeechobee.
