Passenger arrested at Palm Beach International Airport after gun found in carry-on bag, TSA says

A 52-year-old man trying to board a flight at Palm Beach International Airport was arrested after a gun was found in his carry-on bag, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

Agents intercepted the firearm at the checkpoint Wednesday, TSA said.

The weapon was identified as a Hi-Point 38 caliber handgun.

Firearms are prohibited in carry-on bags.

Deputies took the passenger, who was not immediately identified, into custody.

The TSA said this was the 17th firearm discovered at a PBIA checkpoint so far this year
