Twin-engine plane lands without gear at Witham Field Airport

An inbound twin-engine plane landed without gear at the Witham Field Airport in Stuart Thursday night.

Officials say a Beech BE-76 Aircraft with two people on board landed gear up on runway 12.

The incident happened at 6:35 p.m. when the pilot was practicing takeoffs and landings.

Two tow trucks are working to remove the airplane from the runway.

The runaway remains closed.
