Federal Highway beautification project complete in Delray Beach

You can now drive down Federal Highway in Delray Beach without seeing any orange cones.

Remember this construction?  It's over.

The road is now two lanes instead of three from George Bush Boulevard to Southeast Tenth Street.

There are wider sidewalks, bike lanes and better landscaping.

A spokesperson says the city is still calculating the final costs of the two-and-a-half year project.

But it should come in on target at about $14-million.

The completion date was pushed back more than three months because of weather and other delays.
