Coast Guard responds after diver goes into cardiac arrest

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Officials have rescued a diver they say had a medical condition about five miles off of Clearwater Beach.

Fire rescue and Coast Guard officials met with the boat on Saturday to treat the patient. Authorities did not release his name but said the 37-year-old man was in cardiac arrest and was in critical condition. He is being transferred to the hospital.

No other details were released.
