(WBBH/NBC NEWSCHANNEL) A Fort Myers couple is searching for their missing 200 lb. tortoise.

Weighing nearly 200 pounds and taking control of their entire backyard, Lola is like a daughter to Sandy and David Gant.

Sandy's sister found Lola in Cape Coral about 12 years ago. Sandy fell in love with her.

"She moved in, and she has been one of the family ever since," Sandy Gant said.

"She is not really a pet because she just hangs out with us. She has her own home in the backyard," David Gant said.

That is where Lola was last seen on Tuesday afternoon.

"She is friendly. She will come up to anyone. She is not afraid of anyone," Sandy Gant said. "Just a very special animal to us, and we want her home."

If you see Lola, you are asked to contact the Fort Myers Police Department.
