Pahokee mulch fire causes poor air quality

PAHOKEE, Fla. - Some Palm Beach County residents are struggling with their breathing after a mulch fire in Pahokee over the weekend.

Firefighters are working on clearing out the burned mulch and focusing on keeping flying embers away from nearby homes.

The fire is contained, but the area remains smoky with air quality listed as poor.

Some smoke has blown east and is affecting people in other parts of west Palm Beach County as well.

The Palm Beach County Fire Department is recommending that anyone having trouble breathing either stay indoors or temporarily relocate, if possible.
