All clear given after passenger claimed bomb on bus

GREENACRES, Fla. - UPDATE: Investigators did not find an explosive device on a bus after a passenger claimed there was a bomb on it. Lake Worth Road has been reopened.

EARLIER:

Lake Worth Road between Military Trail and Haverhill Road is closed Wednesday after Greenacres police said a Palm Tran bus passenger claimed a bomb was on board.

Lt. Brady Myers of Greenacres police said a man made the claim while exiting the bus at 11:50 a.m.  This prompted the bus to be evacuated.

The man was described as a heavy-set 18- to 21-year-old white male.

The bomb squad is currently at the scene.
