Deputies: Caretaker used credit card of patient's daughter

ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Deputies say an Alzheimer's disease caretaker stole the credit card of her patient's daughter and used it on a spending spree.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested Sherry Singh, 49, of suburban Lake Worth on Thursday after deputies say she spent $2,423 with the card.

Deputies say a man told them he noticed unauthorized purchases on a credit card he shares with his wife.

Deputies went to the stores where the card was used and obtained surveillance footage that showed a woman, later identified as Singh, making purchases.

The woman told deputies she recognized Singh because she hired her to take care of her mother.

Singh was arrested on charges including organized fraud. It isn't clear if she has an attorney.
