Laser pointing at planes on the rise

Pointing a laser at an airplane can cause serious havoc.

High-powered lasers can blind pilots and jeopardize their safety as well as the safety of the passengers aboard the plane.

Aiming a laser at an airplane is a crime, a crime that is on the rise.

In 2015 year to date almost 6,000 incidents were reported to the Federal Aviation Administration which is more than a 50% increase over 2014.

Of the reported laser misuses in 2015, 465 were from Florida.

Palm Beach International Airport had 26, so far this year.
