Operation Sailfish: Fishing tournament raises money for military charity Operation Homefront

SINGER ISLAND, Fla. - Several fishing teams will be hitting the water off Singer Island Friday morning in an effort to raise money for our troops.

The event, called Operation Sailfish , has several fishing teams trying to catch and release as many sailfish as they can over a two-day period.

Sailfish are known for their spectacular jumps and speed, some reaching up to 68 mph.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Operation Homefront , a military-based charity to help the men and women who served our armed forces.

The fishermen will be leaving Singer Island around 6:15 a.m. to compete in the tournament.
