The Centers for Disease Control might impose new travel guidelines for women heading to places where a certain virus is present.

It's all because of the Zika virus.

It’s a big health concern in Central and South America and the Caribbean, NBC News reports.

The virus was found in fetal and newborn tissues of babies with microcephaly in Brazil.

Microcephaly is a neurological disorder that can cause babies to be born with abnormally small heads, which leads to severe developmental issues and sometimes death.

There is no vaccine to block the Zika virus and no medicine to treat it.

Earlier this week, a case of Zika virus was confirmed in a person who had recently traveled to Latin America.

Researchers fear it could spread to the United States, according to NBC News.

Information from CNN Newsource and NBC News was used in this report.
