INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. - A Vero Beach man was arrested early Sunday morning after violently attacking his grandparents, according to Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say the incident happened at 2:45 a.m. in the 7000 block of 20th Street in Vero Beach.

According to deputies, 36-year-old Scott Horn attempted to strangle and beat his grandparents with his fists.

Horn's grandmother received six broken ribs and a broken sternum. Doctors are still working to determine the extent of injuries to the grandfather.

Horn has been homeless and  fled the residence on foot following the attack, officials say.

Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar said,  "His actions this morning show that he is a dangerous individual. He deserves to be behind bars for this heinous act and we need your help to get him there."

Horn was located  Sunday morning and is in custody.
