Two people detained at New York City airport after TSA finds concealed weapons

A man and a woman were detained by Port Authority police at Laguardia Airport Monday, after attempting to get through the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint to board a flight to Miami.

Officials say the man had a straight-edged razor concealed in the removable sole of one of his shoes. The straight-edged razor and blade were found along a tube of cologne.

A woman also had a straight-edged razor and blade tucked behind the inside band of a ball cap that she was traveling with.

TSA officials contacted Port Authority police after detecting the items.

Both travelers were arrested and will face local charges.
