As part of the household hazardous waste drop-off, Palm Beach County residents can safely dispose of their old automotive fluids, cleaning products, electronics, fluorescent light bulbs, paints, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane cylinders, rechargeable batteries, solvents, used cooking oils, and more. By properly disposing of these materials, our overall environment and the curbside collection crews are safer.

  • No sharps or old or unwanted prescription medications will be accepted.

  • Commercial quantity electronics may require special disposal. Call 561-687-1100 for details on recycling electronics from your business.

As part of the community shred event, SafeGuard Document Destruction will shred up to 6 boxes of personal documents for FREE. The first 100 cars will receive recycling goodie bags.

In addition, the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County will be handing out blue and yellow recycling bins to those county residents who need them.

Every month is a good month to recycle household hazardous wastes. Here is a by month suggestion for which home hazard to recycle:

  • January – make a New Year’s Resolution to clean up your household hazardous wastes, like paints.

  • March – Spring cleaning (under counter household products and chemicals

  • April – Batteries from cars, boats, power tools and cameras, or those that are rechargeable

  • May – Hurricane preparedness (fuel, propane tanks, rechargeable batteries)

  • September – Pharmaceuticals/Sharps<http://www.swa.org/289/Medical-Waste> Awareness

  • October - Moving? (dispose of any unwanted cleaning products or garage/shed chemicals)
