Businesses in Palm Beach Gardens anticipating big boost from The Honda Classic

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - In Palm Beach Gardens, the expectations for the Honda Classic are piled as high as, well... 'The Honda Classic Burger'.

"I'm hungry, I've been golfing all day, I want something [comfortable], I want something that's going to fill my stomach," says Nunzio Billante, executive chef at the Burger Bar.

His 'Honda Classic Burger' is piled high with  meatloaf, applewood bacon, gigantic onion rings, and barbecue au jus - all served on Texas garlic toast

The ode to the tournament a reflection of the anticipation businesses are feeling - businesses like Salt Suite

"I think it's huge," says Jamie Gonzalez, owner of the Salt Suite. "I've been talking to my staff for months saying 'when the Honda Classic comes, we're going to get more traffic.'"

Her business uses a centuries old salt therapy technique to bring relief.

"We actually blow a very finely ground salt into the air," Gonzalez says.

She's hoping spectators stop by to check it out - a way to de-stress after a long day of golf.

Julie Poos hopes a long day of walking the course brings people into her business, Heavenly Foot Massage.

"When they come in, and they have a foot massage and they surrender, it's the most amazing experience ever," Poos says.

With nearly 200,000 expected visitors to our area - she knows the potential foot traffic could be huge.

"They get to see us as they're going down the road, and they go 'You know what, I'm going to try heavenly'."
