April Storey: Mom's wine workout goes viral

(KRCR/CNN) - A popular online video is creating smiles for people who are normally frustrated by exercise.

A northern California woman created a "wine workout" and posted it on her fitness Facebook page.

April Storey, a 24-year-old mother to a toddler, knows that her time is limited.

Healthy living can be a struggle, but Storey is trying out a new and nontraditional way to work out.

"I was getting ready to do a workout, and I saw the wine there and I'm like, 'You know, that would be kind of funny to incorporate wine into this workout video," Storey said.

The 15-second video, dubbed the "wine workout," has been seen by roughly 25 million people around the world.

Storey said these are simple, everyday home exercises.

"Star Trek" actor George Takei commented about the work out on social media in a post, saying, " Quit wine-ing and work out."

Most of the other comments have been positive, but there have been some negative ones about hurting herself and falling on the wine. Some people have been doing the workout and sending back their own videos and photos.

"What I want to show people with my videos is that fitness is something you can do every day, you can do it anywhere and you can use anything," Storey said.
