Auto burglary suspect sought by Port St. Lucie police

Police often say that leaving valuables in your car could end up being a costly mistake.

In Port St. Lucie Tuesday surveillance video showed a man looking into cars in the parking lot of Rustico on SW St. Lucie West Boulevard.

Surveillance video showed him take a towel and use it as he pushed in a car window.

He crawled in and took a purse, according to police who investigated the case.

The suspect then got into a black car and drove off.

The person police are looking for is described as a slender black man with medium dreadlocks. They believe he is in his early to mid-20s and about 5'10"-to-6' tall. He was wearing a blue shirt, jeans, and white shoes.

If you have any information you are urged to call Port St. Lucie police at (772) 871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273 TIPS.
