DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Police in Delray Beach have a warning: lock your car doors.

It may seem like common sense, but police say they're seeing a spike in the number of burglaries to unlocked cars.

According to statistics, the department received more reports of car break-ins during 2014 than 2015. But a higher percentage of the break-ins of 2015 involved unlocked cars.

Police are urging people not to leave valuable in their cars. It preaches the motto "Lock your doors to keep what's yours."
