PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said they have arrested a man in connection with a 2008 homicide of a 22-year-old woman whose body was found stuffed in a car trunk.
PBSO jail records show the suspect, Erik Ransell Jackson, 26, of suburban West Palm Beach, was booked Wednesday evening.
Jackson is charged with first-degree premeditated murder in the death of Irma Simeus.
Simeus' body was found in the trunk of her abandoned Honda Civic not far from her suburban West Palm Beach home.
Her body was discovered after she told her mother she was going out to meet friends.
During a hearing Thursday morning, Jackson's lawyer said no DNA evidence links his client to the case.
The judge in the case issued no bond for Jackson despite his defense lawyers' arguments. Jackson cannot have contact with the victim's family or Jackon's brother.
PBSO said Thursday that a second suspect, whose name has not been released, is being held in Ocala, Fla., in connection with Simeus' death.
