One person injured after vehicle catches fire in crash in Indian River County

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. - One person was flown to the hospital following a crash in Indian River County Wednesday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at 66th Avenue and Oslo Road.


Officials say a vehicle caught fire after crashing with a sewage truck.

2 Indian River County deputies were able to get a person out of the vehicle, according to Indian River County Fire Rescue.

The patient was flown by medical helicopter to a local hospital and is in critical condition. A deputy suffered minor burns during the rescue.

According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, roads will be temporarily closed.
