Arrest made in overnight shooting at Greenacres IHOP

GREENACRES, Fla. - Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies were called to an early Thursday morning shooting outside an IHOP in Greenacres.

The restaurant, located at 6708 Forrest Hill Blvd., was shut down after shots rang out in the parking lot at 2:40 a.m.

A PBSO spokesperson said a verbal altercation turned violent, leading to the incident.

Deputies said three men entered the IHOP and sat down near a man and woman.

The man later became upset that someone was sitting by him and started a verbal altercation that became physical.

Deputies said that the man then threatened to get a gun in which he did. The three men jumped into their truck and tried to leave as the man fired numerous shots at them.

The man firing the shots was located and arrested, deputies said.

Several deputies arrived at the scene and set up a perimeter.

Deputies said no one was hit by the bullets.  The shooter's name has not been released.
