Port St. Lucie police have announced the arrest of 52-year-old Gerles William Terry for a series of business burglaries along the Treasure Coast.

Police say the primary targets were Chinese restaurants, hair and nail salons, florists and gas stations.

7 incidents took place in Port St. Lucie, 7 in Martin County, 3 in St. Lucie County, 2 in Indian River County and 1 each in Stuart and Sebastian, according to police.

Police say Terry used crowbars and rocks to smash windows at the businesses.

They say he had a drug problem and that was the reason for the burglaries.
