Multiple cars broken into in Abacoa community in Jupiter, police seeking witnesses

Jupiter police responded to multiple car break-ins Friday morning in the Abacoa community.

According to police, seven break-ins happened sometime overnight on Community, Caravelle and Greenway Drives.

Thea Casper was one of the victims.

She noticed something was wrong when she was about to leave for work and noticed police on her street.

"My stuff was in the driveway so I realized something had happened. So I walked down and told them," she said.

Thea said she forgot to lock her car doors when she went inside her home Thursday night. She said $100 in cash was stolen from inside her car, along with some change.

"I guess not everywhere is safe," she said.

Honey Lynn Webb's car was also burglarized.

"My oldest son went into the car and noticed some things had been open that weren't open before," she said.

Honey said she stopped leaving valuables in her car several years ago when she had electronics stolen from her car.

She said nothing was taken this time.

Police haven't made any arrests in the recent string of car burglaries.

Authorities urge residents not to leave anything valuable inside their cars and be sure to lock them.

The Jupiter Police Department is asking anyone with information on the crimes to contact detectives.
