The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office wants you to meet the first female member of its SWAT team.

Her name is Lawshawnna Edwards.

In order to make the team, she had to pass an obstacle course, a firearms course and other physical tests.

She also went through one year of swat training.

"Nothing was changed; nothing was altered just because I'm a female. And for me that's very humbling and I obviously respect the process knowing that because, it shouldn't matter male or female. What should matter is the courage, the bravery, the drive the commitment, male or female it doesn't matter. Those are the type of people we are looking for on the team," she said on the PBSO Twitter page.

PBSO says it's training three other new members to its swat team.
